Business Insider Africa: Facebook Video Downloads Possible on Restricted PCs Without Extra Software

Business Insider Africa published a guide on September 9, 2026, explaining how to save Facebook videos on a work or school computer without installing any software. The report is aimed at users whose devices are locked down and who cannot add new programs to them.

According to Business Insider Africa, the method works within those restrictions, meaning no installation step is required. The outlet frames the approach as suited to workplace and educational machines where users typically lack permission to install applications.

The report does not name the specific technique in the material available, and no further technical details were provided in the summary. What is clear from Business Insider Africa's framing is the target audience: people on shared or managed computers who still want to keep a copy of a Facebook video.

The topic reflects a common constraint. Work and school PCs often block downloads or software installation for security and policy reasons, which leaves users looking for ways to save content without changing the machine's setup. Business Insider Africa's guide positions itself as a solution for exactly that situation.

It is worth noting that downloading videos may raise questions around platform terms and copyright, though the source material does not address those points.

What to watch next: whether Business Insider Africa publishes the full step-by-step method, and whether similar no-install approaches are covered for other platforms.
